I've been asked about the Add-ons, Projects, and Editions parts of APEman...like what's all about. So, I thought I would share this info for those not familiar with this part of Lemur.
Add-ons:
The original goal of add-ons was simple. To provide a way to easily install popular (and sometimes, more up to date) apps not available in the default repos.
Projects:
The projects section of APEman is where you can install various apps (not usually associated with Lemur per se) created by myself or someone in the Lemur community. If someone in the community creates an app they can use this area to easily distribute it to the public, via Lemur.
Editions:
The editions part is the meat and potatoes of APEman. The concept was originally borrowed from the Linux distro, Saline OS. It allows you to set Lemur up for a specific task. Such as Office work, Video editing/creation, Audio editing/creation, etc. Each edition will install a full suite of apps associated with that task. Basically, when you click on an edition it will install the apps that we feel are best suited for the task (edition) within Lemur. The apps for each edition are listed in the Lemur User Guide and shown in APEman prior to installation. You can install multiple editions if desired. Editions are updated with each Lemur release and in between as needed.
