Lemur 5
#11
I apologize for the delay in posting updates...

I will start building the Lemur base ISO this coming week. I've also moved Lemur back to Debian 12 (Bookworm) for the initial release of 5.0. Consider it a LTS release. There were issues (mostly due to my PC I'm sure) with Trixie. So, it's on the back burner for this release. Once Debian officially releases Trixie and it is deemed stable, I will transition Lemur to it.

The custom Lemur apps are more or less ready, with the exception of APEman2. That app is huge and complex, but it's coming along nicely.

I'm still deciding on the default apps to be used in Lemur. Nothing is carved in stone, so to speak, but here is what I have so far...

Web Browser: Vivaldi
Email: Thunderbird (with Birdtray and a couple of useful extensions)
Music Player: Clementine
Image Viewer: Ristretto
Video Player: Parole
File Manager: Double Command
System Updater: Package Update Indicator
Package Manager: Synaptic
Flatpaks Manager: Easy Flatpak
Taskbar: Bmpanel2
Dock: Plank

Work continues...

Well, we are almost there!

I will begin building the first test ISO this week. Once it's built, I will be doing some test installs and a few test runs after install. Once that is done and any issues resolved, Lemur 5.0 will be released! Keep in mind it will be an Alpha release. Which means it will be rough around the edges, things might not work as planned or be fully functional. Whatever bugs are discovered after release will be resolved prior to the next release.

More to come...
